Air Duct Sanitizing and Disinfecting for Healthier Indoor Air
Dirty air ducts and a clogged dryer vent are essentially a surefire way to poor indoor air quality. Your duct system accumulates dust, debris, allergens, bacteria, and mold, which constantly circulate throughout your home along with the air. This is particularly dangerous for children, the elderly, and people with allergies, as it can cause coughing, asthma flare-ups, and constant fatigue. We offer a comprehensive air duct sanitizing service, which includes deep duct cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, and professional sanitization, so you can breathe fresh, healthy air.
When Do You Need Air Duct Sanitizing?
Look out for these signals that it’s time for air duct cleaning and sanitization:
- A lot of dust and dirt are blowing out of the vents and settling on furniture within a couple of days.
- There’s a musty odor or a smell of mold coming from the vent grilles.
- You can see signs of mold or dark spots on the vents and inside the ducts.
- Members of your family are getting sick more often, suffering from allergies or breathing problems, especially when the heating or cooling system is running.
- Your dryer vent isn’t pulling air properly, clothes take a long time to dry, and there’s a musty smell or dampness around the dryer.
- The efficiency of your HVAC system has dropped, your electricity bills have gone up, and the airflow has become weaker.
If you notice even two or three of these symptoms, don’t wait. Contaminants and mold continue to spread throughout your home, and this can lead to unpleasant consequences.
Our Sanitizing Process
Our experts always take a systematic approach to their work, and our comprehensive service is designed to deliver the best possible results with minimal inconvenience to you:
- Inspection and Diagnosis. Our specialists carefully examine the condition of the entire duct system, dryer vent, blower, and evaporator coil, and identify any areas with mold.
- Preparation. Next, we protect the interior and create negative pressure to safely remove contaminants.
- Professional cleaning. Our experts use a powerful vacuum and specialized tools to remove dust, dirt, debris, and contaminants from all ducts and vents.
- Sanitization. At this stage, we apply certified sanitizers that eliminate mold, bacteria, and viruses, eliminating unpleasant odors. This is the core stage of our air duct sanitizing service.
- Dryer vent cleaning. We completely clear the dryer vent of lint and accumulated debris.
Finally, during the final stage, we thoroughly check the airflow and the cleanliness of the system, and provide before and after photos along with a certificate of completion.

FAQ About Air Duct Sanitizing
How often should this comprehensive cleaning and sanitizing be done?
In most homes, it’s sufficient to do this once every 3-5 years, meaning you won’t have to schedule the service often if the work is done properly. However, if there are pets in the home, people with allergies, or a history of mold issues, it’s recommended to repeat the procedure every 2-3 years.
How does an air duct sanitizing service differ from regular air duct cleaning?
We perform regular cleaning primarily to remove dust and debris. An air duct sanitizing service, however, also includes professional disinfection, which eliminates mold, bacteria, and viruses, significantly improving indoor air quality.
Can you clean a dryer vent yourself?
You can perform a basic cleaning on your own, but professional equipment and expertise are required to completely remove deep-seated lint and debris from the long ducts. Please note that a clogged dryer vent also significantly increases the risk of fire. So it’s best to leave this task to the professionals.
Do I need to prepare my home in any special way before the technicians arrive?
Another advantage of our service is that you don’t need to do any prep work. All you need to do is ensure that the HVAC unit, vents, and dryer are easily accessible. Our technicians will take care of protecting your furniture and doing the final cleanup.
How safe are the sanitizing products used?
We use only EPA-approved products that are authorized for use in residential homes. These products effectively eliminate harmful microorganisms but are completely safe for people and pets once they have dried.
How long does the entire process usually take?
It depends largely on the specifics of your home and how dirty the duct system is. But based on our experience, we can say it will take no more than 3–6 hours. In other words, you won’t lose too much time. Think of it as an investment in clean air and a healthy home environment overall.

Review: Serge was excellent. I emailed the company on a Saturday and they responded on Sunday and came to my house on Monday. Serge went above and beyond to assist me with vent cleaning again. This is the second time I’ve used them and I will never use anyone else. Not only does he do an excellent job cleaning, but he also provides timely advice to help you be in better situations in the future. Would recommend them over anyone else!

We had not cleaned up our HVAC duct system and dryer vent for last 7 years. It had accumulated quite a lot of dust. Serge worked meticulously for 5 hrs. At the end, each duct is so clean that you can see the shiny aluminium inside. He is very polite. He informed ahead of the time that he can come earlier – which was in fact good for me. Upon arrival, he inspected the system and explained his plan quickly and got to work. Best of all, when cleaning the dryer vent, he spotted the squeezed/crushed vent-pipe, explained that we are lucky the stuck-lint didn’t catch fire, and offered to fix it. This was certainly above and beyond our contract. If you are considering duct-cleaning, I would highly recommend Ozon’s services. You cannot go wrong.
